The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is the government agency responsible for assessing, collecting, and accounting for tax and other revenues accruing to the Federal Government of Nigeria. It was established in | 1943 and gained autonomy in 2007.
Applicants must have qualifications and relevant professional certificates as specified in the positions they are applying for, and must also fulfilled the following requirements:
1. Applicants must possess Bachelor’s Degree/HND with at least Second Class Lower /Lower Credit
2. Applicants must have completed NYSC not later than 31st December, 2017
3. Applicants for the positions of Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager must not be more than 40 years of age while Senior Manager and Assistant Director must not be more than 45 as at 31st December, 2024
4. Strong leadership and management skills
5. Strong team spirit and ability to effectively delegate
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
7. Strong Analytical skills
8. Knowledge of the Nigerian Tax Laws and appreciation of their application and understanding of the regulatory framework within which the FIRS operates
9. Knowledge of business/industry environment within which taxpayers operate
10. Ability to work as a regulator with the courage to ensure full compliance with laws
