MUTA Education Scholarship 2025/2026 – The Muta Education Committee is now inviting applications for the  MUTA Education Scholarship program for 2025. Interested persons should check the article below for how to apply and the requirements.

This scholarship award is based on merit and is open to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), medicine, and allied medical programs.

Selection of Recipients will be from each of the 14 Tiv-speaking LGAs in Benue State, and one each from Taraba and Nasarawa states.

Benefits of MUTA Education Scholarship

The Committee plans to award up to 16 scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year. The scholarship amount for each recipient will be determined and announced after the selection process is complete. Recipients may use the funds to cover tuition, fees, research expenses, or other costs directly associated with their undergraduate studies.

Requirements for MUTA Education Scholarship

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

1. Be in an undergraduate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), medicine or any allied medical field.
2. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to second class upper degree) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Note: Applicants who do not meet the minimum CGPA requirement will not receive, even if they have the highest CGPA in their local government.

Selection Process

Review of eligible applications will be based on the following:

• CPGA (60%)
• Strength of personal statement (40%).

Applications with falsified information will be disqualified.

Completed application form and all required supporting documents must be received by the Committee on or before 5 PM Tuesday, April 15, 2025 [US EST (GMT-5)].

Award winners will get notification via email. While applicants who are not selected will not receive individual notifications. The names of scholarship recipients will also be published on the official website at www.muta.org and shared on MUTA Education’s social media platforms during the second or third week of June. All applicants should monitor these platforms for updates on their application status. The awards presentation will be at a ceremony which will hold in July or August 2025. The announcement of the exact date will be after confirmation.

Application Documents

1. Personal Statement: A two-page, double-spaced essay explaining why you deserve this award. Include details about your: academic history and accomplishments, community service involvement, and career goals as well as financial need.
2. Certificate of Origin: A document from your State or Local Government confirming your origin.
3. CGPA Certification Form: A signed letter from your institution’s Academic Officer or Head of Department verifying your CGPA. (The required form is available for download in the section below the application form.)
